We Have the Most Knowledgeable Team
We only hire knowledgeable and passionate guides who are committed to providing our guests with the most enriching experiences. Each of our guides has a deep connection to our community and has a deep understanding of our history and culinary traditions.
We Provide Consistently High Levels of Service
In order to ensure a consistently excellent experience for our guests, we supply each guide with detailed information about each location and restaurant you visit and each cuisine and dish you eat. While leading each tour, they expertly weave in their own stories and experiences, making each tour truly special. In addition, our base pay is 25% higher than the industry standard, thus ensuring that we can attract the best tour guiding talent. Most importantly, no AI is used in generating any of the content you experience on our tours.

We Don’t Participate in Pay to Play
We don’t accept any freebies or discounts from the restaurants we select for each tour. We pay full price for each dish you receive. We aren’t paid in any way to select a particular restaurant and each restaurant is selected on taste and quality alone.
We Don’t Follow the Hype
We don’t select restaurants because they have a huge presence on social media or have influencers promoting their food. Similarly, we also don’t go to restaurants just because they are famous or historic. If the food is not delicious, the restaurant is not good enough for our guests. We only want to serve you the best food!

We Serve the Best Food
We only visit restaurants which have received high ratings from international ratings organizations such as Michelin or have been highly rated by local publications such as the LA Times. We also go to restaurants which are beloved by locals. We taste test all of the food ourselves, and after years of traveling to over 75 countries to eat, we have very high standards. We are also very accomplished home cooks with a massive cookbook collection (1500 books and growing) so we know good food and will ensure that you get to taste it on our tours. Don’t take our word for it. Taste for yourselves!
We Serve the Most Exciting Food
Whenever possible, we want to expose you to less common dishes in a particular cuisine. For example, instead of offering Thai curry, we offer you a Thai grilled beef dish. Instead of Korean BBQ dishes, we offer guests an umami rich Korean tofu soup. We still order classic dishes, but when we do, they must be a particularly excellent version of that dish to be worthy of our guests. We love to explore new foods and we want to have our guests expand their culinary horizons by trying delicious but unfamiliar dishes on our tours.
We Serve Dishes Which Make Sense Together
We believe that the dishes eaten over the course of a tour should make sense together. They are part of a tasting menu which should represent a well balanced meal. We want you to have vegetable dishes, meat dishes, interesting sides, and a dessert. We strive to have each stop showcase a different type of dish and if it doesn’t, there must be a compelling reason (e.g. if two of the best tacos in the city are in the same neighborhood we will taste both). On full tours, multiple dishes which are representative of the cuisine will be served at each stop.
We Explain Each Dish To You
We want you to understand why you’re eating what we’ve selected on each tour. Each dish must serve a purpose. Some dishes are selected because they are unique. Others are selected because they are the best version of the dish we’ve ever had. You will never be left wondering why a dish was selected.

We Teach You About Our Community by Visiting Markets
We believe that you can learn a lot about a community from where they buy their food. On the tours which allow it, we go to supermarkets, farmers markets, or specialty food shops which introduce guests to the ingredients used in the cuisines and dishes we serve. These markets tell us what foods are most important to a community and can give insights into what the community values. Visiting markets can also inspire guests to continue their tour experience by cooking the dishes they’ve tried at home. As passionate home cooks, we always want to encourage people to explore food at home!
We Support Local Restaurants and Their Staff
We want to support restaurants within our community so they continue feeding us and our neighbors well. We also believe that chefs/restaurant staff should make a decent and sustainable living. For this reason, we always pay full price for each dish and include a 20% tip for the restaurants’ waitstaff.
